Douglas County roads saw 27 fatal car accidents in 2021, resulting in 28 lost lives. Of those accidents, 11 involved impaired drivers. As of August 2022, 16 individuals had lost their lives in 13 motor vehicle accidents on Douglas County roads since the beginning of the year. A total of six of these accidents involved intoxicated motorists.

From January 1, 2022, to August 31, 2022, there have been 72 motorcycle accidents in Douglas County; three are suspected of involving alcohol. Careless driving, driver inexperience, and speeding also contributed to these accidents. In 2021, Douglas County had 94 reported motorcycle accidents, four leading to DUI charges.
