Understanding COVID-19 and Workers’ Compensation Claims

As the current public health emergency continues to play out throughout the country, we are reading and will share periodically some useful resources and news links about how workers may or may not protected under workers’ compensation if they get COVID-19.

Though it is still early in our country’s processing of this pandemic, many workers are wondering whether they may be able to use workers’ compensation to help them recover when their work exposed them to the virus. The determination of whether a communicable disease is included in workers’ compensation policies will likely be litigated on a case-by-case basis in the months and years to come, however, this article highlights some useful considerations employees should be aware of in relation to the novel coronavirus.
